Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use the WorkoutLog app (the "Service").

By using WorkoutLog, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information to provide our service:

  • Account Information: When you sign up using Clerk, we receive your basic profile information, such as your name, email address, and profile picture (if provided).
  • User-Generated Content: We collect the content you create, which primarily includes photos of your workout notes ("Images") and the structured workout data (exercises, sets, reps, etc.) that is generated from those images or entered manually ("Workout Data").
  • Optional Information: You may choose to provide additional information, such as your location (if you enable location services) or a profile bio.
  • Usage Information: We automatically collect information about your interaction with our app, such as when you last used the app, to help us maintain and improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To Provide the Service: To authenticate your account, store your Images, process them to generate Workout Data, and display your workout history to you.
  • To Improve Our Service: To understand how users interact with our app, to fix bugs, and to develop new features.
  • To Communicate With You: To send you service-related updates or respond to your support requests.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with third-party service providers (our "Subprocessors") who are essential for us to operate our app.

  • Authentication: We use Clerk for user authentication.
  • Database & Backend: We use Convex to host our backend database, which stores your User Account information, Workout Data, and metadata about your Images.
  • File Storage: We use a cloud storage provider (such as Cloudflare R2 or Google Cloud Storage) to securely store the Images you upload.
  • AI Processing: To provide the core feature of our app, we send the Images you upload to our AI Service, which in turn uses third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) to analyze the image and extract the workout text. The images themselves are sent to these providers for processing. We do not share your personal account information (like email) with these AI providers.

4. Your Data Rights

You have control over your personal information.

  • Access and Correction: You can access and update your profile information (like your name or profile picture) through the app.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account at any time through the app's settings. When you delete your account, we will initiate a process to permanently delete your account, all associated Workout Data, and all your uploaded Images from our systems.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encryption for data in transit and at rest. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

6. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means.
